...and I turned to my friend and said, "You watch, someday I'm going to marry that girl." (Dad's account of meeting Mom for the first time. He was only 8 years old and sitting in a tree house.)

Dad Raising Children
"My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass." "We're not raising grass," Dad would reply. "We're raising boys.""
This quote reminds me of my father. He would say,"It doesn't matter if you break a window, as long as you are playing sports when it happens."

Random Memories of Grandparents
It seemed like Gma. Fowler was always ironing. I remember that she layed out Gpa. outfit for him everyday and I loved his suspenders.
Gma. Fowler had these kissing skunks and when you touched them their heads would bob back and forth like they were smooching. I loved playing with them.
Gma. Fowler always had Schwan's icecream in their freezer on the back porch. A lot of times us kids would sneak in and grab one or two and sneak out. She never understood why she was always so low on icecream. Yummy!
Gma. Reynolds would always take Audrey and Sharmy to frostop for hamburgers and fries. That is probably why that is still her favorite meal ever!!
Gma. Reynolds was known for her assortment of cookies. She always had pecan, shortbread and peanut butter(shaped like a peanut) cookies in her jar ready for grandkids to devour.
When Gpa. Reynolds would drive us home going about 5 miles per hour, he would always say,"Now kids, don't jump out of the car."
Gpa. Reynolds thought that levis were ugly, so he would always tell us that we had on the ugliest pant he had ever seen.
Gpa. Reynolds would never let Gma. buy him new brown pants, so she would buy them and put them in his closet and remove the old pair and he never knew.
Gma. Reynolds could sure dance and so could Gpa. She would always dance a jig for Audrey and Sharmy while they were over at her house. She would always tell us the story of how all the ladies wanted to dance with Gpa. because he was such a good dancer at the dances. But, he would only dance with her and it made her feel special.
Whenever any of the grandkids would ask Grandpa Reynolds "What do you think, Grandpa?" His reply was always the same..."I think you're full of _ _ _ _." (I think we all can fill in the blank here :)
One day I was eating lunch with Grandpa Reynolds and we were drinking some milk. His glass had some milk drizzle down the outside. He asked me if I knew how to properly clean a drinking glass...and then he proceeded to show me by slowly licking his glass all the way from the base of the glass to the lip and then he looked at me and smiled...it was a funny moment. Brad
Grandpa Fowler and I(Brad) went ice fishing one day. We caught a plethora of fish and had a great time doing it.
I loved Grandma's unconventional french toast recipe. The secret ingredient--a dash of pepper. It just gave it that little extra zing. And my wife, Megan, is a pepper on the french toast convert as well.
